Developing Sexual Assault Referral Centres (SARCs) – National Service Guidelines
These guidelines are being published jointly by the Department of Health and
Home Office to highlight the Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC) model of good
practice in the local provision by police, health service and rape crisis voluntary
sector in equal measure of immediate aftercare to victims of serious sexual violence.
Partnership working between these agencies is essential. These guidelines provide
different approaches that can be tailored to fit all needs.
