Home Secretary's Strategic Policing Priorities 2009-10
The Home Secretary's Strategic Policing Priorities for 2009-10 were laid in Parliament on Monday 8th December 2008 in a Written Ministerial Statement.
The Strategic Policing Priorities emphasise the strategic context in which local accountability and planning should be undertaken so that forces tackle the issues that matter most locally and get best value for money for the pubic from the resources devoted to policing.
The 2009-10 priorities are in a different format to previous years, without prescriptive directions to Chief Constables, in line with recent strategies for policing, which focus on the need for local planning to meet local needs with local accountability.
