What's New

10 July 2009

The government’s proposals in response to the Review of PACE (new window) were subject to a 3 month public consultation at the end of 2008.  The summary of responses and the table of respondents summarised comments will be published here before the end of autumn.

The Aim of the Review

The Review is encouraging views and comments from the public, stakeholders and practitioners on PACE and its application to 21st century policing. This is the final phase of the consultation process and sets out specific recommendations for change aimed at reducing bureaucracy, freeing up officer time, whilst increasing accountability and raising public confidence and awareness.
