Contacting the UKCA

Requests to the UK

Requests for assistance from the UK should be made in writing and sent to:

Requests must be made in English. Requests which have not been translated or where the translation is difficult to understand will be returned to the requesting authority. The UKCA will prioritise urgent cases but can only do so where the need for urgent action has been clearly indicated in the request and the reasons for urgency are provided.

Data security restrictions mean the UKCA is unable to correspond effectively by email unless a secure link is in place.  The UKCA generic email in box closed with effect from 1 February 2009.

Requests to the Channel Islands, Isle of Man and Gibraltar should not be sent to the UK Central Authority. Contact addresses are contained at Annex A to this note.  

Requests for the exchange of criminal records

The UKCA does not handle requests for the exchange of criminal records from EU Member States. These requests should be sent direct to the UK Central Authority for the Exchange of Criminal Records

Requests for details of criminal convictions from non-EU states may continue to be sent to this office.

Queries relating to your case

The first point of contact should be with the designated caseworker for your case.

The UKCA general enquiry number (+44 (0)20 7035 4040) can be used where you do not have a UKCA reference number or do not know the name of the caseworker dealing with your case.
