Do you live or work in Bristol? Can you help us with some research?

10 June 2009

We are carrying out some research on our websites and we want to talk to some of the people who use them. We are holding a focus group in Bristol and we are looking for volunteers who use Home Office websites to attend.

What will I have to do?

If you take part, you’ll be asked to:

  • carry out some tasks on the internet
  • complete questionnaires
  • join in a structured group discussion.

When and where are the focus groups?

The focus groups will be held in central Bristol on Thursday 25 June, and will last a maximum of two hours. All groups will take place during the day. Details of times and details of venues will be sent to participants nearer the time. Places are limited; let us know soon if you want to take part (contact details below).

We are holding two groups and want to group participants by their job or role to encourage discussion and feedback. We are looking for people who use Home Office websites in their work to take part in these focus groups.

The groups on 25 June are:

  • police, local authority staff and other professionals working in crime prevention or reduction, community safety or counter terrorism
  • professionals and voluntary workers dealing with alcohol or drugs related issues.

Take part

If you would like to take part then please email us and the research company that we have commissioned to carry out the work will get back to you. Please include:

  • your full name
  • your job title
  • brief description of your role
  • which Home Office website or websites you use
  • location and description of the group you want to attend
  • your contact details including address, email and telephone (including mobile)
  • full official address and contact details of your employer/relevant organisation

Further research

It is unlikely that everyone who applies for the focus groups will be able to be included. However we will be conducting more research in the future with other audiences, and roles, and will invite you to take part.
