Planning and Implementation

There are four stages for planning the implementation of ABC in your force.

Stage 1: Understand changes to ABC model and requirements for forces

  • Requirement for all forces to deliver ABC for 2003-04
  • Changes to activity codes and other elements of ABC model

Stage 2: Allocate roles and responsibilities for delivering ABC

  • Roles to be allocated to ensure successful delivery of ABC, for example activity analysts, costing personnel, local liaison officers.

Stage 3: Deliver force ABC plan

  • All forces will need to submit a plan to the Home Office for review
  • Information on what this plan needs to contain
  • How this plan will be audited and by whom

Stage 4: Deliver ABC data

  • Allocate clear responsibilities for delivering ABC
  • Ensure understanding of roles and timescales within your force
